only if you are buying road legal plates....
If you are buying show plates, you do not, although they have a disclaimer printed on the back of the plate stating they are for show use only.
If you buy them with a road legal style and font you will have no problems. They are just missing the postcode from being printed on the front, which you are not required to carry anyway.

and choose show plates in the order form and then the rest of the details as standard silver on black pressed plates you'll not have to produce any paper work.

although I'm thinking of getting a set of Ali yellow and whites with black plastic letters as that is what the bus would have most likely been delivered with, but can't find them anywhere.
