I bought a length of delrin which is being machined into 4 bushes with grease grooves like og ones. The tubes i used are 60.33 CDS the ID is slightly larger than stock so custom bushes are needed.

Cool very nice, keep up the good work.
Greetz mycha

Yes £80 delivered, I have drawing to have side plates made for split beams. It would be worth the effort in re-designing and making when slam werks are this good.

Had a good afternoon on the bus today managed to whip the drive shaft off pig of a job as the cv bolts where rounded on most, so had to weld bolts on 9 out of 24.

Nice and clean with a lick of paint

I decided i may as well take the gearbox out so i can clean it in the week.

More painting, these are redrilled rear hubs 5x130. You dont need to spend good money on CE hubs when you can do this.

IMAG0286

Also finished painting the 944 front calipers

IMAG0287

After all this and a couple of mates popping round for a chat i thought i better get on with some welding.
The cab floor needed a patch (see page 1)

IMAG0284

Needs grinding and painting.

IMAG0285

Now my back is killing me i need to rest, so i can get back up next weekend.

under the matress style were these

IMAG0302

I used 270g wadding for the back and 1" foam for the base- crap pic of wadding though!

IMAG0305

They could do with tightening up a little, but as i'm not an upholsterer i'm happy for 1st try.

IMAG0303

IMAG0307

Couple of tips
Rest them on the radiators easier when soft.
Get 2 people if possible, not a 3 year old that finds in highly amusing to jump on them and you.

I was told to get some hog ring pliers. I didn't need them as i have all the spikes on the seat bases and to be honest i couldn't see where you would use it.

Should be back on the bus saturday.

Update required

IMAG0360

IMAG0408

IMAG0370

Egotrippen stevecame over to help out with the ply head lining, only took 1 photo though.

The beam should finally be finished this week, had a few issues with welding and it tripping out the electrics so had to get a mate to take it away to do it.

Grazy, they great mate. Steve took them away and varnished them for me.

As we all know there is a servere lack of grey westy wardrobe handles, so the way i solved the problem was like this.
I started with a bag of 5 white ones i bought for a fiver, only 2 were good

I rubbed them down with some 800 wet n dry, then primed and painted

Colour is middle graphite which i matched down at the paint shop.
I know that i painted the button the wrong colour, so i repainted last night.
Total cost less than £20

I managed to fit the seats too, which will have to come out again when i get the carpet.

And the beam is finished at last!! don't build one just buy one is my advise.
So i have a 60mm narrowed needle bearing link pin beam, ta da

I hope to get it rolling this week and fire it up at the weekend.
So i knocked up some dropped spindles this evening.

I think i'm going to stop using the camera on my phone, the pics seem a bit misty :(

I started to fit them, but time was getting on so i will finish tomorrow.

Could you take an up close photo of the rear beam where the gearbox mount goes as I cannot figure out how to mount my box?

Thanks

J.

update as its been a while.

Rear brakes sorted along with the spring plate drilled and the adaptors fitted.

I've made a bracket for the oil filter, i have pulled those hoses away from the bottom of the engine bar too.

exhaust and lights fitted

Headlights fitted with side lights, These fit perfectly. All i had to do was drill a hole for the wire to come through, piece of cake.

I notched the chassis too.

Front discs

Then after a few electrical issues i dropped it on its wheels and had i quick test drive.

There are a few things to sort out but i'm well chuffed with all my hard work.

Egotrippin came over and helped with the the headlining

Then when he left i fitted the roof bed i got from faux

And my helper/hinderence is very please.
