I'm looking for an awning tent for this years trips.

Quick erect, ideally built in/tailored groundsheet, seperate sleeping area for 2, favourite looks like Outwell Florida Highway or Khyam Motordome sleeper but twice the price of the Outdoor Revolution Navigator Kombi or Royal Traveller 3 Driveaway (on Campershop).

Has anyone got recommendations ?, I've took a look at "post your driveaway awnings" as well.

You can get quite a bit of money off at the moment and I was going to look at Volksworld again this year (as they had a few on display last year).

But I expect they'll all go up in price again end of March ??

I got an as new Royal Traveller in for sale section if that helps. It depends on the space you require, we have had the Khyam and it was far to big for us for weekends.

Just

I'm using a khyam motordome classic at the moment ..it's a good drive away awning ,but it is pricey .. I got a used one which saved me about £120 on a new one ..I would recommend this awning ,but I know the out well ,royal traveller and the outdoor are all good as well ,just use different ways to erect :)

Used the Khyam Motordome Classic last year for a couple of times as borrowed it of a friend, was a good bit of kit and built to last.
Plan on buying my own this year but cant justify the money for a Khyam so am gonna go for one of the Quechua pop ups.

About the same size as the Motordome but a lot cheaper. Have read lots of reviews and comes out well. Doesnt have a gusset to attach to the van but from the pictures have seen on the different forums you can get the bus right up againt one of the doors.

I have just purchased the Khyam Motordome Sleeper, Groundsheet and Carpet for this years shows and travels.

If you use the code

VFC01

On the Khyam site you get 10% off - saved me a lovely £50!
Cant wait to take delivery and give it a try!

We use either an original Devon Motent - nice and retro but damned draughty - or an Outwell Country Road that we bought through Lightening Leisure.

This guy attends most of the VW shows and does a good show rate. The awning itself is easily erected, has a zipped in groundsheet, optional carpet for that added touch of luxury and warmth, and a hook-in double bedroom. It has a good sized hood that attaches to your van's gutter with a standard figure of eight plastic length, and holds up well to gusting wind, just the job after an evening on the beer. Details here http://www.lightningleisure.com/acatalog/Outwell.html although I reckon you could get it cheaper if you shop around.

My advice is to go to a show and see what others are using in the flesh.

Cheers Delilahtoo, the Outwell Country Road looks perfect, and I'll check out what's on show at Volksworld.

Don't mean to get all Samba on your arse but it was just covered here. http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=38449&p=322014&hilit=show+us#p322014" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
