While surfing the VZI site last night. I clicked onto the machine 7 banner.
Under the clearance shop section, i spotted some clear vision headlights for £29.50     they should of been £65.

They do have a fault. Some sort of misting on the glass.

I took a punt and bought a set. Arrived today. Wife had the bright idea to stick them in a sink of hot soapy water and "hey presto" all the misting has gone

Thanks for the heads-up!

Sorry if this is a daft question. I have 3 screws on the headlight surround on my crossover. Would these fit?

Not as far as I am aware, the 3 screw surrounds hold a different unit.

Daft question did you float the light in warm soapy water or rinse the inside out, just got mine today dont know if they will fit mine it a 72 crosser but its worth a go for £30. I feel the Duck tape comming out. If not i will flog them to my mate for £40. :msn4:

I totally submerged mine in a washing up bowl full of hot water and a squirt of fairy. I rinsed out with clean water and dried. There are a couple of water marks but hardly noticeable, drying with a hair dryer may solve this but doesn't bother me and I'm pretty particular.

I did exactly the same, I too have a few water marks, but didnt notice till fitted, but you cant really complain.

One trick to try is a little squirt of rinse aid in the water - this reduces the surface tension of the water, allowing the water to run off the surface - at least this is what is does in the dishwasher (I'm a service engineer)

I would have done this but, i dont have a dishwasher or rinse aid, but a tip to try?

Cheers!

Alistair

Bugger just thought, i just poured out 5 gallons (over the weekend) of pure RO water cos i dont use it any more, could have used that to rinse out after as it dont leave any residue after as it has no contaminents in it.
