Best air filter on a stockish engine?

Having gone back to stock, I'm running a tall aftermarket-style air filter and was wondering whether it's worth changing to the stock airbox that was fitted with 34 pict carbs?

Any opinions?

Put an original oilbath filter on, vw thought it was a good idea so why change it? :lol:

Agreed. If you have a stock carb, you want a stock air filter. The preheat will make a difference to how well it runs, if set up correctly

Even if you have no pre-heat pipes?

As I don't surely it will only really affect the induction noise?

Runs lovely as it is, I'm just running out of things to do to the bus!
