Any advise on the best place to buy a decent battery for, I have a Bosch S3 at the moment and the guy in the local battery shop tested it and said its holding a charge and will do the job but a camper should have a larger battery?

All you need is an 063 battery. Plenty of places to get one, Halfords, JK, VW Heritage, ebay, online battery shops. No need to get anything special or bigger capacity if you have a standard engine and charging system. If you have a bigger, high compression engine then a higher rated one would be a good idea.

I bought a new S3 065 battery, it's perfectly fine. The cheapest battery is also just as good as the technology hasn't changed in decades.

That the same as the one I have, the guy at my battery shop tested mine as it has stood around for a while, he said it will do the job but a larger unit would be a good idea.

I have a standard battery from gsf which is fine but I also have fitted an old battery from my diesel a6, this seemed to be failing as it struggled to start in the winter but it's great in the bus. Higher cranking power I think.
