BUS VALUATION

I had my bus valued by the T2oc and I wasn't so impressed to be honest (although it was cheap and convenient). The valuation officer didn't think it made a difference to the value that my bus is a very early (Jan 68) RHD model. I believe RHD bays are more sort after and 68s even more so ( I,m not knocking later LHD buses by the way ). I know I couldn't replace my bus for the money it's insured for, yes I could get another bus but not a 68 RHD Devon caravette.
The T2oc are generally interested in all buses up to T5s and don't have a special interest in Early bays. Many VW enthusiasts still don't realise that Early Bays have become so sort after and that they are commanding such high prices now.
It would be great to find someone to do valuations for Earlybay members who has more of a specific interest/ knowledge of Early Bays.

I must admit they were a bit up themselves when I was a member.
Complained about my van being too low for the valuation guy to look underneath, and weren't to keen on anything not stock.

What are the conditions/requirements to become a valuer? do you need to own a VW related business (ie restoration)?
...do you need to be in a recoginsed/affiliated society/club?

Surely we have many members on EB that would fulfill the criteria and could give a more truthful valuation of our buses for a few quid?

Can anyone step forward?

On my valuation form from Footman James it lists an independent valuer as Car Club Official, Restorer, Valuer, Specialist Dealer and Other (please specify). So yes we have people who fulfill these criteria on here. We certainly have Restorers and Specialist Dealers and I'm sure anyone wanting a valuation would make it financially worth their while. Shows would be a good place to do valuations as most of us go to most of the shows.

Are there any valuers club officials willing to step forward?? can someone from EB do it?
