Some of you may be aware that Devon Dubfest are organising the first big gathering of Devon campers this year. Had a meeting last night with the Devon Dubfest crew and YES it will be happening. JULY 26 - 28. The info about the Devon Event will be going up on their website asap.
We are hoping to get as many conversion types and ages (from 1957 to 1989) as possible and there will be a dedicated area in the centre of the show for a display. The DDF show is really excellent with good local music, a family atmosphere, low key but effective security and all in the lovely setting of the grounds of Bicton Hall. Camping facilities are good and prices are back to where they should be. Bicton is of course near Sidmouth (we are organising a parade/cruise to Sidmouth) and on the way to the rest of Devon and Cornwall. Lots of people camp at the show then go on to places further west.
Let's try to put on a really great display of Devons - there is sure to be big media interest in this as the Devon Conversions story features regularly in the SW press and TV.
There is also a chance that we will be able to get some of the people involved in the Alexandria Works to come along to the show - we are trying to arrange some surprises!
So keep your eyes on the DDF website http://www.devondubfest.co.uk/ where all will be revealed very soon.
