carb pop out

my solex carb has a small round caping plate on the front and it keeps poping of ?

any ideas why? the van spits it flys out .van stops i put in van ok

Never figured out why, I just put it down to crap assembly. If you still have it use epoxy to stick it in next time. It the plate is missing a €1 cent coin is a near prefect fit.

glue in so is this a common fault?

With certain types of carb, yes. The hole is there to allow the drilling and machining of the carb body in manufacture.
