I've seen many, and heard a few, stories about people buying parts from online stockists and they fitting perfectly for late bays... however we have early bays.

I'm needing new cab door seals and a replacement rear view mirror. Can anyone recommend where I can get them and know they are specifically for an early bay. I've a 1972 K Reg Devon conversion. I want to keep the little fella as close to original as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Buy the dearer German seals and avoid the cheaper Brazilian ones.
Heard good things about Status. Bought some German door rubbers for my 72 K plate from C & C and they were spot on. my bus had new JK brazilian ones when I bought it, I couldnt shut the doors properly and they didnt fit right on the corners so I junked them.

http://www.status-vw.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for seal defiantly, fitted all new door seals from them this year and they are virtually identical to the originals I took off, the new seals do take some time to bed in and you will need some weather strip adhesive for the front door ones, tried loads of places to find some eventually got a tube from this guy on ebay http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/pickup-parts49/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sticks like **** to a blanket you just need to clean the talc off the seals first and the old glue.

Thanks.
The seals are on order. I'll let you know how I get on.

Next on the list in a new rear view mirrow. It wasn't until I had to put the visor down yesterday evening did I realise the rear view mirror isn't the right one. I have to move it so it's useless to use the visor. Funny how you suddenly realise you do use the mirrors when they can't be seen.

Out came the pile of catalogues from Vanfest, everything was late bay.
So I contacted VW Heritage, who honestly admitted they didn't do one that fitted, but recommended somewhere I might be able to get one. However I've not heard back from those options as yet.

Does anyone know where I can get either an original or reproduction rear view mirror, or will the late bay version fit without too much hassle?

Thanks
Tom
