Were having a go at our Dormobiles interior this winter. Removal, clean up and refit. I'm sure most of you will be aware of the dormy layout which utilises a plastic non powered cool box. Does any body know what would be the best material used to insulate it when I put it all back together? It was just some poorly fitting polystyrene boards that came out (which I presume are original). And there must be a better way 40 years on.

I am contemplating installing a powered fan to it from a cheap 12v/240v box, I have some execellent instructions to follow saved somewhere.

I think they call it "cellotex" the stuff they insulate ceilings with.
Easy to handle and not expensive. Available from all DIY stores.
Just a thought.

Yeah that was one of my thoughts too, or I wondered if something like a foil wrap blanket that you would use on a household hot water tank? I suppose there's expandable foam too, but a bit worried that it may damage things as its expanding.

Just wondered what other people had used.

You can get low expansion foam - I use it on boats to fix insulation. Just don't put too much into the gap. If I were you I would use sheets of celotex with a very small amount of foam to lock them in place.
