Hi,

I'm trying to find some steel wheels for my 71 bay (112 x 5 PCD) that have a deeper dish. Does anyone know what wheels will do the job?

If you want steels as in normal wheels with small holes around the edge then start looking at Mercedes wheels. The centre hole will need machining to fit over the castle nut thingy though.

just out of interest, why ?

the stock wheels have that offset for a reason, and there ain't a great deal of room for any significant changes in offset, as people running certain aftermarket alloys tend to find :?

no; it has a different URL and it's all orangey - chalk and cheese.

i ask "why" because the stock VW bus wheels have a very specific offset, and if you stray too far from that then they won't fit.

simple as that.

now you might have all sorts of interesting suspension / chassis / bodywork modifications in mind... i myself am very interested in the fitment of 'deeper dish' rear wheels, slotmags being my wheel of choice, so i thought i might be able to help you, or indeed pick your brains on the subject of getting them to fit :|

on the other hand if your bus is stock then any change in offset that would be immediately obvious to the naked eye probably wouldn't fit, so i'd hope to be able to steer you away from buying an inappropriate set and wasting your money :|

mercedes vito wheels are steel and 5 on 112, so are some passat, so are audi although they roll predominantly on alloys these days, but you'll find that most of these wheels have a similar offset to the stock bus wheels - it must be a european thing because if you want deep dish you have to go stateside and then the PCDs are all wrong.

come to think of it early granada steels would fit as well, but again the offset is wrong.

you might struggle to be honest :?

have you tried the excellent technical forum over at

http://www.volkszone.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ?

ask in there... tell 'em the councillor sent you

Got these for sale, i know they are wide 5 just wanted to show how much dish you can get away with on the back(where the problems are).
These fit...... just, without tucking/rolling the arches and have massive dish.
