Hi all,

What are the different westy interiors called?

I'd like to source the one that has the fold down cooker and full width r&r?? - anyone got one or know of one...

Were they year specific or just an factory option?

(Sorry if this Q has been posted before... )

Thanks in advance!

Daz

most common known ones from Germany are Berlin and Helsinki. Both LHD.

helsinki's the one with full width R+R bed.. and with units behind both frot seats - with flip down cooker 'landing' onto sink / fridge unit.

The Berlin has rotating passenger seat.. and units on one side of bus ..

I'll be selling my very expensive late bay 78 helsinki in couple fo months or less ;)

Mine has a plaque that says SO67. What does that make it?

I'd be looking for a Helsinki then - but want a '70 or near to keep it correct (ish) to the bus - even though I have a deluxe...

I take it they are like rocking horse poo?

..and my bus has just cost me £600 more than I was planning

I got the David Eccles book VW Camper-the inside story

Which has loads about the different interiors and the Spec Guide that covers Bays has all the codes explained as well.

I'm about to start decoding mine over the weekend, its a 1971 Campmobile which was the US badged Westy :D

Hi,

Our RHD 71 Danbury came with a Westy Continental Interior which comprises of a sink/cooler unit, cooker/wardrobe unit, side seat/table, overhead storage, and full-width rock-n-roll bed.

Incidentally this interior is potentially for sale - see my thread in the "For Sale" section :)

Thanks,

Mike

I am thinking of selling my interior & building a custom one so I can get a few more people in the back. I want a party bus really, & the original interior is a bit tight.

I would want to keep the bunk/stretcher bed, it's ripped & need a retrim anyway. all the door cards are brittle & won't servive being removed, but the wardrobe etc are good. I might move the sink/fridge unit to the other side of the van as it's awkward to open the sliding door with it in place.

I will need to have a think to see what is the best option...
