Hi,

I recently bought a '68 bay devon after many years of jealous thoughts at other vw campers i saw and am looking to bring it back to its former glory to use on a europe tour next year. Generally its in good condition considering its 41 years old but the interior is not nice and needs redoing.

now to my question, at some point the doors had had new door cards and the previous owner had fiddled with the locks. When i got it, it was garaged for a while and left unlocked. The locks since had siezed up and wouldnt turn. not ive caked them in wd40 ive got the drivers one moving but have discovered that some of the linkages are missing, top knob and i think the lock bit and so when the key turns i see it moving from the back but doesnt do anything. nothing locks nor can i see what its trying to move/do. so i was wondering if anyone could explain how they operated, maybe some pics so i can work out what is missing to get them operational again...

many thanks,

shaun
