hey guys changed my drive shafts yesterday as the cv boot were burst on my old shafts.

i had 2 spare drive shafts that i took off my old camper which was a 1975 late bay. the cv's were only on a short time before i scrapped the van so were pretty new.

since fitting the other shafts i get a "tink tink" noise every turn of the wheel. i'm 99% sure it's from the n/s thats the noise is from. i've went under the van to make sur the bolts are tight and everything seems to be in order.

i can move the shafts side to side??? is that normal, and would it be because i've put late shafts on a early which could be a difference??

Have you tried putting it on stands and turning the wheels by hand, might just be something catching as the wheel turns, also did you used the spacer plates, just a thought that if there not there the bolts could be sticking through too far.

thanks for the reply :)

i've nothing at home to get the van off the ground, i'ii get a jack tomorr and give it a spin.

yeah it's got the wee tabs the bolts go through.

ther not sided or fit the wrong way can i??

thanks for that doris :)

hope to get to the bottom of it tomorrow, usual panic trying to get the bus sorted before heading to camperjam

i've cheated a wee bit lol, van is away getting ball joints done the now so asked the guy doing the work to check it out in case i've done something silly :)
