lower your van the easy way......no welding reqd - just bolt em on :)

I have a pair of brand new never fitted wagenwest dropped spindles for sale:an easy way to lower your bus and retain good ride quality.
2.5inch drop......(just about enough to run standard tyres/wheels but better with smaller tyres) low enough that it doesnt bottom out everywhere. Really easy to fit. match with a 1 spline drop at the back really nice

spindles only for busses from 70-71 (early disk brakes)they are new, never fitted

£300 including postage in the UK.
please mail me [email protected]

i have a mate with the same spindles fitted to his bus so could prob get some pics of how it looks if reqd.

i also have a mate with a set of 70-71 discs and calipers (inc bearings spindles etc in good nick) so if you want to lower your bay van from any year you could use these to do this. Hes wanting £120 for the disc/ caliper set up.

richbaker78,

I was told that you cant run dropped spindles on early disc brakes??? just what i was told.

I have USA dropped spindle on my 70 bay and i was trying to update my brake to disc and it was a big NO :( :(

any news on that point would be great.

regards

marcher :D

Do you know if they fit straight on without modification?

My van has a 4" narrowed beam and is already fairly low... but could go lower

I'm not sure about track rod clearances either? :?

my bus is lowered with these spindles....and 1 spline at the rear....

marcher -
these are spindles made specifically for the 70-71 'thin' discs (as also advertised on this thread) - the reason you were told otherwise is bacause not many people cut up the rare 1 year only spindles to make lowereed ones.

If you have bay drums then you should be able to fit any later spindles to your beam (including these)....the arm spacings are the same - I know this cos im doing the opposite - running drum spindles on my late bay beam.

if you have the 70 calipers on your dropped spindles then what you have been told is correct - you cannot run the later brake set up unless you run later spindles (ie post 72) - i think that answers your query??

tofufi: i helped Dominik do his (see pic) it took us 2 hours start to finish not rushing and including painitng some bits - its very easy - just nuts and bolts. I cant advise on track rod clearnaces as I dont know how low your van is. but you can easily measure the existing and take of 2.5 inches and allow a bit of extra room for movement. these will go well with a narrowed beam as they do increase the track slightly.

checked my mail mate....nothing there :?

give me a bell on 07717 891824

theres also someone on vzi whos interested so itll be first come first served im afraid.

Thanks for the advice mate, I guess I should have been a bit quicker in buying them
