Empi Gearstick Adjustment

I've just fitted an Empi gearstick to my van and I'm unable to select 1st gear while the handbrake's on as it sits too near the handbrake. Other than that, I'm happy with the gearchange. Any ideas? Cheers.

Try adjusting up the handbrake a bit tighter.

Sadly this is a design flaw with the EMPI shifters in my mind.

The Scat sit below the handbrake,

The CSP, Vintage Speed and Gene Berg angle back towards the rear of the bus curing this issue too.

Cheers Alex, I'll try adjusting the handbrake. Not good for hill starts!

Adjust the handbrake. Ours is close, but works fine when you have the handbrake adjusted up.
