NOW SOLD weber 40 idf pair , genuine italian made not the chinese crap.overall very good condition.will suit 1641cc upto 2010cc if jetted correctly.
I bought these for my engine build, but have since got a turnkey engine, so they are no longer required.
will load some pics when i've figured out how to....
Just want my money back so im asking £290 delivered or collection from croydon for £280..
I do not have manifolds or linkages, also not sure of jetting, emulsion tubes or chokes sizing, sorry.
Thanks for looking, Bob

Hi,
I'm not offended; I just think your description is inaccurate and unfair. As a novice I looked in to the Webber-EMPI distinction, I was aware of a degree of prejudice against EMPI. I discussed this with my US engine builder, he explained he fits both types, and has worked with Webber for years. He says there is no difference in quality, although he prefers to fit EMPI as the linkage gear is better quality, (they do not bend over time like Webber's linkage gear), also the air intake covers on the EMPI are also better quality, Webber's are think and flimsy by comparison.

I also asked him about the VW Heritage statement that EMPI were better on a test, he says this test was flawed, but both carbs are of equal quality. He's been fitting Webbers since 1977. I also bought a Vintage Speed Muffler, which as you know is Chinese (Taiwan) and they have been rated as among the best. Incidentally a lot of Marks and Spencer furniture is made in China, and it's not crap!

Hope this factual information helps others.

Sorry if your gonna bring Marks and Spencer's into it their furniture is a pile of *****!! And when it comes to weber or empi I think it just comes down to personal experience, just hope your reply didn't put people off buying his weber carb now a??

Everything Empi (brand new) I've had has been ****. With swarf wedged in jets etc etc
I've owned about a dozen second hand webber carbs an they've all been great

You should give a **** about putting off potential buyers for this guy.
If your that bothered about how much better you think empi stuff is then start a new thread.
Just saying :D

it might be worth you checking the jet sizes etc it doesnt take long to whip em out and write the numbers down.
new jets tubes etc can cost a lot so if theyre the right ones for someone you'll prob get a sale :D

Now listed on fleabay £250 or best offer...
