I've removed my front door felt channel guides and have noticed they do not have the clips on the top and there not on the door either.I went on line to buy some new ones but it's only listing them as 73onwards so as my bus is s 69 did it not have them or were they fitted to all years ?

Ok I've checked and checked again and I can't see any lip for the clip to locate into .Theres a sort of slot that I think the channel is meant to sit in but no where for a clip to locate onto .Is your bus a 73 or earlier as I wonder if this is why they are only listed for post 73-79 busses ?
Never the less I can't even seem to reinsert the channel guide far enough up for the bolt hole to line up .if I do get it far enough up it twists sideways ?

Can I remove the felt channel so I can refit the felt channel guide as I cannot see where the top clip slots into place with the felt channel fitted or is this not possible with the window glass in ?

Hi Fosworth
the felt strip clip you want are these from C&C stock code S01245
if you look at the first photo you can see a small tab on top of the clip, this fits into the holes that run around the inside of the felt channel 5 in total then you push the clip to secure the clip in place
sometimes the tab breaks off as in photo two
then you fit the felt channel into the clips, make sure you start the felt from the edge of the quarter light along the channel and down into the door there is a metal strip that runs past the door lock, i used some contact adhesive on the felt and clamped it in place

these are the holes the clips fit into

hope this helps

Hi Vivian sorry you've miss understood me . I'm not on about these clips . I'm on about the long metal guide channel that clips at te top and bolts at the bottom of the door and sits vertically .It goes down past the door lock mech. What I want to know as I'm having a real issue trying to locate the top cli back in place ,is can I pull out the felt channel so it reveals the position for the top clip and one I've refitted the guide can I then fit the felt back in or will it not fit down inside the door because of te window?

Ok
first of all the felt channel won't come out with the window in, wind the window down about half way so you can see two bolts that hold the window to the mechanism if you drop the window to the bottom of the door you may be able to remove the felt channel, if not you will have to remove the complete mechanism and remove the window
the metal channel that holds the felt strip does NOT have any clips its just a push fit i used a bit of contact adhesive to keep it in
do you have the little clip that holds the metal channel to the top of the door if not you can get them from C&C stock code S01474
the clip slides down onto the strip then push the strip with the clip inplace into the hole at the at the bottom of the window frame so you have a continuous channel from the felt strip to sit in

Small clip fits on this end

and the other end of the clip fits in this hole

Regards Vinvan

Yeh that last pic showing the slot at the bottom of the frame is what I'm hoping to see with the felt removed
Cheers ja
