Has anyone changed there standard fuse box for something more modern, with blade fuses? Mines pretty rough and I'm thinking of changing it next year.

Maybe something like this

Not changed it but I normally get my electrical supplies from these people:

Should be a pretty straight forward swap

Yep, I put in two 8 way fuse blocks with blades similar to those you found...made a right angle aluminium bracket to hold it. I put thin plastic shim behind to stop any accidental shorts.

The main issue is that the original has a number of fuses "commoned" or joined together, whereas the replacement is all separate. One option is to use link wires looped from one to the next using those crimps with the extender tab...best is to run a thick wire between them (at least 1mm diameter) and solder it onto each tab in turn. Have to be quick so you don't melt the plastic moulding - soled the end one tight to the plastic so you can slide the crimp on...all the others can be further away.

Also I replaced all of the connectors for the insulated types as the old ones can short out one the dash.

Buy a kit of fuses - eBay, as separate mini packs are expensive. As you have more fuses you can separate some functions, put a little label after so you know which is which as you will no longer be standard.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, cheers Si, I was wondering that same about the back of the fuse box with the terminals joined. Thanks for the info!
