little issue with my headlights, wondered if anyone knows the answer

ok, side lights work when switch is pulled one notch

main beam doesn't come on when switch is pulled out 2 notches

full beam only flicks on does not stay on

so, all the bulbs seam ok, fuse is ok is it a switch issue or the headlight relay ??

anyone know how i can test the switch ?? and test the relay???

thanks
D

D.

to test the switch remove the thick white/black wire from the switch, Term 56. Either with a test lamp or multimeter test to see if there is anything coming out when switch is pulled out fully.

if all ok here then off to the relay. Use test lamp or mutlimeter to test on

term 30 of relay this is perm live.(12volts) from fuse box

term 56a is dipbeam (should switch between 0-12v when operating dip )switch

term 56 is switchfeed from light switch. (should switch between 0-12 with headlight switch)

term F is Mainbeam (should switch between 0-12v when operating dip switch)

term s is the earth from the coloum switch.
