read it through like a novel, and enjoy the cartoons, great book, later when you need to find something it comes to mind a lot quicker.

hi SFF for a work surface under my double burner smev i used a Decor end panel from BQ that matched cupboard door fronts, they are a nice balance in thickness the come covered/edged so wipe clean, the only thing is the are not heat proof but mine has been in 6 years or so and just use a trivet for hot pans if i need to.
