Hi, I recently fitted a pair of solex kadron twin carbs onto my 1776cc engine.I can't get them to run correctly it's backfiring very badly.I have tried adjusting mixture etc but to no avail. The chap who I bought them off had them fitted to a 2000cc and he has since told me he had them re jetted. Is there anyone out there that can help me or knows someone that can help me? I live in Nottingham and if anyone knows of someone that can put the correct jets in the carbs, set them up and sort the timing out too I would be very grateful. Please pm me with any help and advice thanks Paul.

Hi
Have a look at lowbugget .com or kaddie shack there both in the states but have a wealth of knowledge regarding kadrons.
I have them fitted to my 1600 and a also had a few problems with them popping and farting, crede99 on here helped me sort it using FaceTime which was fun.
I've just ordered a service kit from kaddie shack and some new main and idle jets if you e mail them they will let you know what jets you should have for your engine

Ps make sure both your pump arms are moving together as one of mine was bent as soon as I straitened it she ran great

Hi Mark, cheers for advice. I don't think it's a pump arm issue because it ran ok (no backfiring) with the old empi progressive carb fitted. I will check that though just in case. How do you check for that please? I think it may be down to the wrong jets being fitted so will order some from kaddie shack. Hopefully by fitting the right jets it will sort out the issue...fingers crossed.
I just need to get the old girl running right before the good weather comes! Cheers for your advice.
Paul.

Hi Paul sorry if I confused you I meant the pump arm on the carb it's the one with a spring on it and a plastic nut bottom of carb . Also there is an internal filter behind the big brass nut on the back side of the carbs.
Good luck

Mark

agreed, with above we had the same probs with kadrons and put up for over a year, we havent quite got them right yet but they are a lot better after a fettle and a lot of advise, these carbs i am led to believe can be made to run real sweet also , however our are not there yet, going back to Icts TBH.
