I have a 71 usa Westy and wondered if any one had converted the hook up socket and internals to uk spec? Probably can't be done but it'd be good to use it

look up Justin (Creationblue).

Yup. I use the U.S. hook up I just use a U.S. plug on the hook up lead.
I've heard some concern about putting 240v through a socket intended for 110v but as far as I understand it's all about the Amps and on site hook ups are normally about 10amp supply which is absolutely fine.
Main thing is wiring up a decent earth so the rcd works right. If in doubt get a sparks on board ;)

i got the lead from creation blue and it works great, you do need to modify the electrics inside, jk do a kit and if you know what your doing electrically its not difficult to do your own.

if you don't use the JK kit you'll need a garage fuse box from somewhere like screw fix that has an RCD, a new UK socket and back box to replace the old US type, i left the original equipment in place for authenticity just not wired, new cable from the from the hook up to the fuse board and fuse board to the socket and above all a good earth.

if in doubt get an electrician to do it
