I've just received my 69 panel back from the body shop where it had a full paint job .I bought all new seals for the doors including felt channels etc .For some reason my windows seem very hard to wind up n down almost light there a lot of resistance .the window looks like it's in the felt Chanel properly and now due to the resistance caused my drivers winder just clicks but doesn't lift the window .It does wind down just not up .Is this a new winder mech now needed and if so what amount of the door needs stripping to fit one ?
Before anyone says take it back to the body shop ,I won't go into details but will not be ever going back there so will need to sort it myself .

Increased resistance of the new felt channels has probably just highlighted a worn winder mech. If you turn the handle and the window doesn't move, there's not a lot else it can be!

The passenger one is super stiff to ,the drivers one was the same no stiffer ,I can see and noticeable part that seems wrongly fitted .i guess the drivers one being used more than the passenger one could be why it couldn't handle the strain?
Is there any thing I can spray on the channels to help the window slide easier ?
Also if have to change the drivers mech how much of the door do I have to disassemble ?

i think you're not alone in this - some posts on here, people can't open the wing vents or wind windows up...

having done this job myself, i took care to make sure that the channels were properly seated, then before nipping the screws and bolts up tight I made sure that windows wound up and down and that vents opened. Tightening carefully, and tapping channels into place as you go and feel resistance building. If its really tight, the clicking is a symptom of poor seal fitting as much as you having an old and tired winder.

My suggestion is you loosen things of in there, see if that makes it better - and explore any tight bits with some talcum powder, a block or wood and a rubber mallet (take it easy though)

This may help ;)

also try a little silicone spray in the channels it can help the window glide better, but don't use too much as it will knacker the felt channel.
