Insurance small print

Received insurance documents today only to read in the small print that you won't be covered by theft if it's not in a locked garage overnight!

Is this common practice?

Mine stated this but for me it's fine it's always in the garage

Mine is the same between the hours of 10 and six if its within a certain distance from home. Half a mile I think.

Only applied over a certain agreed value though
