I'd like to get my 72 insured for fire and theft only. It's not registered so just really want to protect against theft.

My 71 is insured with Cherised. I've not tried them yet, but wonderered if anyone has an unregistered vehicle insured and can recommend a company that is cheap?

Thanks

mines with jks but it is now registered but wasnt a problem when i got it from states to insure

I've just called Cherished Insurance.....what the hell! I got twenty questions, hassle, a big list of why they couldn't insure it, he kept asking what I paid for it which is pretty irrelevant as I want the van plus all the parts insured. He said they do offer laid up insurance but my van doesnt qualify as it's not registered. Why, what difference does that make. It's got a chassis number. He said they could talk to the underwriters and offer me a road policy, what a waste of time that is as it's going to be way too expensive.

My 71 is insured with them so seriously thinking of ditching this company when it's up for renewal, even if I have to pay a bit more.

So still looking for a company that will insure an unregistered van.

I think we did this before we had it registered off the chassis number. Laid up insurance and think it was about £40? I'll double check that though.

If anyone can tell me a company that does it please. Just tried another Classic Car Insurance Company who advertised Laid Up Insurance and they said no, only if the vehicle is registered so I'm struggling.

Once the bus is running you ask for a proper cover note and u can drive it for mot. Once mot I can then get my uk reg. then u ask for the full proper insurance note.
Then they charge u the rest of the money for your full insurance ( which for me is around an extra £80 , total £120 ish ?
Happy days

Ps don't go anywhere near adrian flux.
If u can b bothered read my previous post called name and shame.
I've been dealing with a f the last few days because they have just stung me another £70 for yet again something which was there mistake. That insurance policy was a balls up start to finish.
Yesterday I phoned them to complain and then rung trading standards and some other number I was given and they were gonna take this matter up for me but as it happens a f rang me this morn and are backing me down and refunding my money but only after I gave them hell!

R h insurance all the way !

Thanks Guys, CHerished have just called back and will do me £10k cover for £53 a year which isn't too bad so will go with them. Took a bit of doing to get to a price but got there in the end.
