I didn't like the off the shelf ones so made some out of stainless steel door hinges, works fine if you're not a purist, and no one really sees...
On my bus the battery compartments (where the hinge bolts on) were different heights on each side, don't know if
that is normal but does make a difference if hanging the flaps off them...!
