Stock for me. I'm running twin 36s on a 1600 with a stock exhaust, no worries

If you want a slightly more free flowing exhaust, a standard beetle backbox with two bus tailpipes should work...

my bus is kept in the garage so longevity of exhaust not as much of a problem - i went for a bugpack quietpack, cheap and fits ok and sounds nice - not too loud. was going to go beetle route, but heard confusing things about the fumes not being pulled away from back of bus properly :? :?: :?

I've been running a Bluebird SS quiet pack for about 5 years, which I'm really happy with. But if I was buying a new exhaust today I would go down the Vintage Speed route :mrgreen:

I agree with this, mine has been on my bus for well over 6 years and it still looks like the day it was put on, dont fuck about with non stainless they rot quicker than apples :mrgreen:

Dubs and Classic's Jason has a Beetle exhaust on his panel which sounds nice! I don't think he has noticed any fumes? :? That's with the back hatch rubber leaking too :msn4:

Looks the same to me, except maybe the speedshop one is swept back a bit more? the bluebird one is the same as the JK one 8)

I've heard that too, but that was alledgedly due to the positioning of the Beetle tailpipes near the middle of the van. Fitting two bus tailpipes (one each side) to a Beetle exhaust would leave the exhausts in the standard position, so shouldn't be a problem

You might need to do a bit of fabricating for the brackets for the tailpipes.

I found a late bay tailpipe fits a beetle exhaust backbox. I've not tried my early tailpipes in a beetle backbox though.

If it was me and i knew it was a 'fill in' till the new engine arrives I know i'd not go too mad and keep the cash for the new one as know doubt there WILL be extra's you'll need/want once it arrives

I've just been on the phone to Bluebird and they no longer do the SS Single Quiet pack, just the stock style SS system. Stock system is apparently "much better for bottom end torque, right up to a 1776". Hmm...
