Hello everyone, I have been reading many of the posts here for a time, very enjoyable and funny, you all seem to have a very good time.
I'm likely the oldest guy here (61) and just bought my first bus, a 71 white and yellow, always wanted one but never found myself in the right place and time. I have had it about 2 months and just this past weekend got the 1600 running correctly.
The bus was a one owner spending it's life here in the Southern Calif high desert so there is only 2 rusted out spots that I have found so far, however the sun has done it's best to rot as much rubber as possible.
It sat for some time in back of a house way out in the desert, that invited what we call the desert rats to start stealing parts,, the radio was, not taken out with care and much of the wiring under the dash is a mess.
I will ask some dumb questions I'm sure of you folks who know about the buses, any way, I'm looking forward to getting it put back together and using it to run up and down Calif to my other passion of vintage motocross on my 1955 Triumph.
Sorry Johnny, I see that I screwed up placement of my first post !
