if anyone can give me their baby ideas it would be appreciated

our car seat doesnt fit on the front seat as the new securon belt isnt long enough to go around it - dunno what you would do if you had a fat bird :lol:

so i was going to put it on the rear seat but we only have lap belts so i need to fix an inertia reel 3 point belt. i have seen a few previous posts showing some home made plates raising the inertia reel mounting point to above the window line. can anyone tell me if they have ever mounted the inertia reel to the thread insert under the rear window and used it like that? would the belt line then be too low?

any help greatly received

Mine are mounted in the threaded holes just below the windows in the rear...at an angle so they pull through ok.
Seem to work fine, but I have never sat in the back yet on a journey :D
Work ok on my daughters booster seat thingy that has a back, although it needed the belt extender on the buckle end.
Cheers
Al
PS: got an inertia middle lap belt too, but that is a complete nightmare to use and needs an extender...but didn't come with one...the 3-points I bought came with the extenders as well.

Hi!

I have new securon 3 point belts in the front too, and our child seat wouldn't fit as the belt wasn't long enough, I used one of these, problem sorted.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Securon-227-Seat-Belt-Extender-/260679964376?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb1bc96d8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now our baby seat fits well in the front, with my gf on the middle seat. Also, i have been told Britax do a seat which will fit with a lap belt, but haven't looked into this, this would be better for me, as the middle seat is a little snug with my gf's legs around the gear stick ;)

Cheers!

Alistair

I have / and had the same problem...

I got around the issue the first time by fitting a Just Kampers T4 seatbelt on the front passenger side.. this has worked fine with the rear facing baby seat......

only now I have a new problem! We are expecting our second later this year so now I need 3 point belts in the rear....

There seem to be a couple of options.... has anyone done any of the following - or indeed something else altogether? Please help me or the van will have to go if we can't all travel in it!

This is (apparently) the original workshop manual - has anyone seen these rear brackets around anywhere?

Also, have seen recently a few installations where the upper bolt is put through the rear panel by the air inlet.. like this...

help! :?

ha ha ha, i am in the same boat and only just sorted it out this saturday.

i am thinking 1 kid can stay in the front and 1 in the rear.

as i have a converted westy and there is already a threaded insert in the mid rear (behind the seat upright) i installed one of these;

http://www.securon.co.uk/seatbelts_layouts.htm#514" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

type 514/30

in fact i had to buy in a pair so if you are interested i have one complete box left.

fortunately the car seat we have can also use seat belts aswell as isofix and it works a treat.

i have told the wife a 3rd kid is not an option as we have run out of anchor points :roll:

good luck

dan

Pop round mine curly, I have rear retractables in both ny buses, and I evan have a brand new rear securon rear retractable belt, brand new, yours for 25 quid.

:lol: :lol: I said much the same to my wife!

Any chance you could post or PM me a picture of your installation please dude...

And also, may I ask the cheeky question.. how much was the pair of belts?

I don't know at present if I have the anchor points.. but I do have a westy so I'm hoping the odds are in my favour..

i will send you a couple of pics after the weekend as we are using it then and at the mo as it is all wrapped up nice and dry :oops:

i bought the belts of fleebay sometime ago but i think they were about £50 pair but cant really remember. As i said earlier if you need a single belt let me know as i have 1 going spare ;)
