Paint remover?

Hi All,
So the previous owner painted the padded section on the top of the dash white.
I would like to go Back to Black :lol:
Seriously though does anybody have an idea what I could use not knowing what paint it is and not
destroying, as it is in good shape.
I am prone to using petrol to remove stubborn stains and would hate to destroy it with my ineptitude.

Any help appreciated.

What about thinners or would that knacker the padding? Could paint it black :msn4:

I sprayed mine in satin hammerite and it looks good and doesn't crack

Think I will have to try all sorts in the corners where you can't see.
Satin Hammerite might even cover all the white, and not react . Thanks.

Done mine in a fit of rage after trying vinyl paint and realising how crap it was, nice surprise in the end with the hammerite
