Does anyone have any tips as to where to source a sheet of plywood big enough to cover the floor without any joins? We tried the local B&Q and Wickes, and the biggest sheet they do is 48" wide. Ideally we're looking for a sheet about 50" wide - that being the distance from the rock n roll bed to the back of the front seats.

Cheers

There in lies the problem. A specialist wood supplier may help but expect to pay the earth. I got round it by using 2 thinner sheets and bonding them together with staggered joins.

standard board is 8' x 4' which means you will have a join , the floor size is 5' x 5'4" (front to rear , size between arch tubs)

Cheers guys. The largest we can source anywhere is 8' x 4', as you say. Think we'll go with your advice, Clarkson46, and sandwich 2 thinner pieces together.

I've just done our floor and we bought a 10' x 5' sheet of 9mm external ply special order from Howarth Timber & Building Supplies, cost was £37.49 and they cut it to size for us. Check out website to see there is a branch near you http://www.howarth-timber.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for all the ideas.

Anyone in the Wiltshire/Oxfordshire area might be interested to know that HJ Webb on the A420 just north of Swindon sell plywood sheets 10' x 5' x 5.5mm thick. We managed to cut the sheet to size in the car park - mind you the piece that's left is big enough to do another van!

We'll post some pics when we've got the floor tiles laid.
