Unless you’re running something unusual that needs very different characteristics like Mallory you’re best off right now with either stock points etc or the 123 set up. Only because so many people seem to be getting let down by systems that were once revered but are now wholly made or the parts are made In the orient somewhere. Somewhere where cost and large numbers produced are the only factors in their modern world. This isn’t my experience but a generalisation of reading threads of issues on here and on several other VW forums and older car forums across the board. I’m stock right now and never really had an issue but I might end up with a 123 if anything goes Pete Tong.
