can anyone help/ confirm I have my production codes right?
My plate reads:
02 128 463
424251 C96 042 141 191
06 3 7498 EN 2340 11

So I've narrowed this down to:
02 128 463 - 1970 model + chassis #
4242 - Lotus White (L282),
51 - ?
C96 - ?
042 - ?
141 - With heater vent in passenger compartment
191- With outer and center underfloor plates
06 3 - 6th week,wednesday
7498 - Unknown code
EN - Export Destination - England
234 - Kombi, sliding door left, RHD
011 - 50bhp engine manual
Cheers!

51 - is your interior trim colour - dark beige leatherette
With regards to C96 & 042, I have no idea. I think Araon and Speedman are both good at translations...

Are you sure it's not 396

if it is it's a collection of M codes to comply with the UK market, ie mph speedo, left hand loading door, belly pans, etc.

Still can't find 042 anywhere though.

C96 is a group code comprising of
- 020: Speedo & Odo in Miles
- 061: Type Labelling of seat mounting and ID plate for England & Ireland
- 187: Headlamps for Countries with LH traffic

042: Tyres approved by research & development dept and free from import duty & costs????

7498: Code used for production planning
