pulley thing under drivers seat

This may be a dumb question, but what does the little pulley thing do thats in the drivers seat 'housing', not the seat adjusters, the other thing!.

You mean the heater switch fitted to the tub

as far I know, it directs heat to either the front (demisters/cab floor) or the rear (cabin/seating area). hth's

It is indeed the heater control for the rear compartment. I a novice too and had the same question, but found the answer from the Owners Manual. Check out the link below, I found it useful.
