Rear heat vents question...

Carrying on from @easy question about rear heating - I really can't see the point of the under rear seat heat ducts and outlets as they seem to serve no purpose. Would it not be a better idea to fit close-able heat grills (similar to the dashboard ones) into the RnR bed base panel and attach pipes so they vent directly into the cabin? Has anyone done this?

The heater outlets can get very hot. The closeable ones in the cab are cold air vents ( well on mine they are). If you really don't want them, cut them out and weld in caps

I was thinking of redirecting them into the cabin more efficiently.
