I want to remove the coat of primer that my Bus has got because it is not good stuff (as I keep getting told!) As I am a bodywork virgin, some pointers as to what steps I should take would be great. An Idiots-Guide if you will....
Do I just tackle it head on with a block and sandpaper? If so, what grade of sandpaper?
I know that the bus has had various coats of paint throughout its life, and the primer has been touched up in patches too. Do i take it back to the first sign of paint/filler/rust/bare metal?
When the primer is off - do i treat the bodywork with something till i am ready for paint prepping? Is there a better kind of primer that i apply so i can still use the bus daily?
There will be some panel work needed before paint so it may be sometime before anything is done, but i just want the primer off.
Thanks in advance!
