Hello,

I was looking into getting my bus renovated at Jacks Garage, but a few people have since told me perhaps I should look at some other options first  . I remember seeing an article in a magazine recently about a place in Croydon, but I can't find the mag now...

Anyone got any recommendations for the London area?

Thanks

What needs doing and Londons a big place any clues?

pm Slammed Kustom here he operates from North London area

you might be thinking of South London VWs, based in croydon. My van is in there at the moment.

It needs a full restoration, most panels are full of filler if not then badly welded, so I want all that sorted and resprayed, everything needs sorting apart from the interior, which I'll do at a later date.

I'm in South East London, but travelling in/around London isn't a problem.

It wasn't South London VW, I'm going to take it to them for a quote though.

I've heard good things of Brickfield Auto's. Alex (Jesus on Vzi) had his 69 bay stripped/painted there.

Speak to Phil Norman.

I can also recommend Phil Norman at Brickfield Autos, and he's the one you saw in VW Camper and Bus a couple of months ago. He has worked on my bus over the last year, off and on, sorting out real rusty chassis problems, various associated sills, cab floor etc etc. Brought it back to him in February, and is now pretty much resprayed.

A really nice guy and someone i feel i can trust, both him and his judgement. Isn't looking to spend your money but gives his honest advice. He has a nice organised workshop with separate spray booth too.

you could try Ian at Mayflower, always v. busy and not one for answering the phone, pop round if you're near, tend to be open late during week

slammedkustom is your man..... ;)

Lives near Bexleyheath and works in North London.

Will always be honest (however scary it may sound..... ) and give you good sound advice, as well as a good sound price.

He is the Ronseal man. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Paintwork, mechanicals, whatever you need or want. Personally I wouldn't give my bus to anyone else, top man!

He is a busy though, so get in early!

Send him a PM and see what he says.

Good luck with the resto....

Carole
