After much soul searching I've decided to look for a project to work on over winter to create a bus that really suits us as a family. Probably the bus equivalent of downsizing your house. No longer just a thought at the back of my mind its now going to happen

But to fund this and repay some of the costs incurred installing the new engine over the past 10 months my westy will need to go. Having been told last year to sell it at £20k (yep I thought that was daft as well!) It has today been listed up for sale on the VW Camper Crazy website to test the market at £19750 - but, I would really love this to go to someone on the Earlybay Forum and via this site I'd be happy to discuss a EB Forum Member price. Only this week I have finally managed to find the right underseat mats which look to be in better condition than mine - these really were my holy grail item

There are a few threads right from the early days on finding this bus, the surprise & fun of picking up the best Type 2 Earlybay Camper at last years Camperjam is there somewhere as is the four page spread in VW Camper & Commercial. The trials & tribulations of the alternator bearings failing in France this year are also well documented so there is no place to hide what we have gone through, but I believe the new owners will have as good a start to enjoying this great little bus as possible.

I have stacks of photos of all parts and sections of the bus and of course records to go with them please PM me with you email address and I'll forward them on to you. But the latest photo is below

I also know that a stock bus doesn't appeal to everyone, and I don't think this is a bus for taking and lowering - I think it deserves to be kept as close to this condition as possible. I also know a bus is only worth what someone is prepared to pay, but this is as well sorted as I can get it and it really is looking terrific at the moment and compared to the prices being asked on commercial vw sites in my area this could be a steal for someone. I know I will miss it, and just hope I don't end up like Scott and in a few months time try to track it down to buy it back

PM me to view or ask any questions. It's just sailed through the MOT today (3 Sept)

sorry for the chit chat in a for sale thread but i feel i have to comment on this bus.I have had over 15 SO67R`S go through my hands some good some blinking good and some ...well kinda short of the mark.In that time i`ve had only one early bay to rival this one and most will know that story. So £20k in my opinion is cheap for what this bus is and honestly if it were mine it`d be at least £22K and i genuinely feel that that wouldn`t be unfair. An outstanding example of a very rare thing..a rhd earlybay westfalia only made in south africa.<
Good luck with the sale

I dismantled and refitted the entire interior on this van when it was soundproofed and entirely cavity waxed, and can vouch for the interior condition of the van the areas you will most likely never see!).
Its as close to brand new as is possible in a van of such an age.
Its a steal at this price, Id say.
