is it ok for them to have oil lying in them :?: by the way iam abit thick

Yes, they are there to allow oil to lubricate the rocker arms etc without leaking, after a period of time though most of the oil should drain back through the pushrods into the sump so if theres truck loads of oil in them (as in it pours everywhere when you take them off as opposed to some dripping) then something probably isnt right.

And when you fit new cork gaskets to the covers, clean the covers so they are spotless, and run a mm or so layer of grease around the sealing area, fit new gasket on, and then smear a thin layer all around that, fit and use new bail arms if you have em, job done, shouldn't get a leak. No need to use gasket sealer or silicon, just grease it up baby!
Should be good to go, and you wont ever get a leak.

there int to much in there,just thought i would ASK.

ill try the grease plenty about after doing the cv joints :lol:
