The other issue is that I still need and would like the fridge to pop out two or three inches when I’m parked up and draining them Stellas. Another slight technical hitch folks!!! I’ve taken so so long to get this far and I’ve worked out how many Stellas will fit and made the units to fit etc etc etc. Where I’ve taken so flippin long they’ve reduced the alcohol in Stella and I might have to fit a second fridge to accommodate the necessary Stella / alcohol ratio .

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,Whys it never straight forward ?:)
What you need is a miniature version of one of these that are used in car parks but that is held up by a spring. You'd have the " stripey" face facing the fridge and just push it down when you wanted to slide the fridge out - do you know anyone with a 3D printer as I'm sure one would be easy enough to knock out with the plastic itself acting as the spring?

Now that is seriously gonna mess with my sleep pattern tonight ! I reckon I’d best have a couple of extra Stellas or Fosters to at least hit the post code for the land of nod.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, most of my stuff gets sorted in the darkness hours !:)

Just before the trip to Ninove, my motor has developed a new flutter and I’ve next to no time to do anything because he’s off for his MOT this morning. Anyway, unfortunately got there a bit late because I had a bit of a dental problem and had to pull one of my teeth out. Not a biggy but I had to sit still for a while to get the bleeding to stop, and as I was coming back on the bus , thought I’d best wash the blood off and change my T Shirt.
Apologies to Nick and the lads down at CJ Motors. Long story shortened. A tiny bit of welding on the chassss somewhere but I’ve not seen it yet, I’m hoping Ted will sort for me. And believe it or not, those new brake cylinders are leaking, two out of four cylinders are leaking although they were fitted November 2023 so fourteen months old .

Apologies for my massive ignorance, but whereabouts are CJ Motors based? I've looked on the tinternet and there seems to be a fair few CJ Motors about and I wouldn't mind trying to get my '71 Westie to someone who actually knows the motor lives in the arse end of the vehicle and can do it fair justice in the Mot department, as most garages down my way (I'm just south of London BTW) don't seem to have much of a clue on motors prior to 2000

Actually I've had another thought ( that hopefully won't give you sleepless nights!). Do you know anyone with a touring caravan with a built in Thetford manually operated toilet ? I had one on my old tourer and the toilet cassette was held in place with just the device I think you are looking for - as I remember you couldn't slide the cassette out without pressing down a little tab under the holding tank and it automatically engaged once you slid the tank back in . Might be worth a look see to see whether that would solve your problem.

CJ Motors are in Redfield, Bristol, which is not exactly local to you.
Nick comes on here occasionally.

CJ Motors that I’m talking about are in Bristol. Peeps come from all over to get to see these guys. Nick is head honcho there along with his two sons Harry and Teddy. Before you go to see them , you’ll have to get yourself booked in. Give Nick a ring and have a chat. Their place is approximately five hundred yards from a train station that’s two miles away from the main line (Bristol Templemeads) to get to London, if you’re leaving it for work doing. Nick has a camper or two, maybe four or five possibly more, plenty of other older motors etc , the chaps have beetles and Ghias as well as Porches and pickups. To say they know their way around VWs, is a bit of an understatement . You won’t be disappointed.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,you’ll even like it :)

You could try James Wotton, now at Gravesend, Kent, air cooled genius, best go see him or you could email, been looking after my van for 10+ years now, he wasn’t busy when I was there on Friday so you may be lucky
