I've just realised my engine support bar isn't going to clear the oil outlet from the oil pump, so I'd like to see what you guys have done to get over this.

I'm thinking of chopping off the left hand support that sticks out so that it doesn't interfere, and just relying on the right hand bolt and the small lower one.
Is this a good idea?

Cheers,
Ollie

sorry not the best picture but as you can see this fitting angles the oil line down a bit so it clears the mounting point, you can get them from vwspeed shop

It's what I did although my case was missing the third (LHS) mounting boss anyway as it was previously a Beetle case. I tapped the lower one out to M10 to compensate a little - not really done many miles since but it seems OK, so far..

Hotwheels
not an easy convert to type 4, I'd have to say a type 1 s/bar
could not be used as the type 4 motor & s/bar are very different , also
hangers are bolted differently, having said that I'm sure there has
been some engineering guru who has merged the two
A few other things that'll need changing/modding -tinware, bellhousing,
throttle line into enginebay & cash as every thing type4 costs more

this might help......

On my '71 I needed to cut a little bit off from the support bar, as I have flow flow exit from oil pump cover.

chopped the ends off my sisters bar and made the rest, this cleard the full flow and the header
