Slick 50 is a PTFE/Teflon additive, and Dupont sued the makers to remove their trademarked 'Teflon' name as "Teflon is not useful as an ingredient in oil additives or oils used for internal combustion engines." They make the stuff, and if it was good, you know they would be selling it! Molyslip is much better IMO.

I put a tube or two of mollyslip in the box of a 69 bug I used to own. It was making quiet a bit of noise and it calmed it right down. Made it more bearable to drive.

One thing worth bearing in mind. Back in the early 70's the recommended oil was EP90. This worked ok in summer and warm climates but we had a lot of complaints of difficulty in selecting first gear when cold. This was because the oil, when thick, lubricated the sychro too much and hence baulked the selection of first gear while stationary.

The solution was to simply use EP80 oil. Modern gearbox oils are slightly multigrade now and EP80/90 works fine.

The reason I mention this is if you do use an additive it may cause the same problem when cold.
