Morning all...

The 'catcher' that sits as part of the sliding doorstop isn't working.

It's just limpy flapping about.

It looks like there's a spring missing that should hold it out until the door engages with it when it's slid back.

Anybody shed any light on this?

Cheers

If it's the bit that bolts on the bus that stops the door closing when open then yes there is a spring there. I think they are on Bus OK. There is a thread if you search recently about it. They aren't handed as I got a LHD one from EBay and that seems to work fine. I bought the whole mechanism for about £13 and nicked the spring.

I'm in the middle of fixing mine which is the same as yours for two reasons,

the shaft on the uhinge sliding door side is snapped inside rendering the spring useless

and on top of the u hinge slider side there is a cam which has also snapped

you'd have to unbolt the hinge from the sliding door to see the spring

There was a thread on this a while ago. They were in stock at Bus Ok but they have sold out (NOS).
I read a thread I think on TLB :msn4: and someone fashioned one from a clothes peg spring, so thats my plan!
