Hi all.Any one with a bay pick up?I really need to know where to mount my 6x9 speakers.Do i get mdf door cards or how do i go about putting them in the kick panels, which i would think would be too flimsy. Please please help!! :)

6x9's are crap really, use a pair of 5.25 or 6" mid range & tweeter, you will get a much better sound. Slip a slim line sub in a box in there too for a sweet setup.

Are 6x9s really crap? I always assumed they would be better - not sure why...

I have a pair of 4" in the kick panel and 6" with crossover and separate tweeters in the doors, still wiring
it up but hopefully it will sound good.

Hi,

I have a double cab and have been mulling over the same dilemma. I have bought some old parcel shelves (mesh type) and i intend to put some speakers in old 70's style boxes on the parcel shelves then speakers in the doors and tweeters on the dash. If you wanted a sub, why not try one of those that fit in the spare wheel?? :D

agreed! separates all the way with a 6" midrange is what i'm rollin with

oh and if you are after an amp that is tiny in size but packs an awesome punch then you have to check out the 'vibe lite range'

I have two in my van and they are just over the size of a DVD case but are 1000W

Thanks all! :D .Am gonna get some mdf behind the seats and mount the 6x9s in there, and have the amp in the spare wheel well, and sort out some more speakers for the doors.Seen some pics on here to help me,so thanks again!!

6X9's are ok in the back for filling in sound. I have fitted a pair in my van. I have tried to get the staging to the front. If you went to a concert they are playing in front of you, not behind.
Go with good mid & tweeter up front & any sort of sub. It will sound great.
