Hi,

I would like some pictures of the audio/speaker set ups in your buses.

I have been thinking about where to place speakers and I'm pretty sure I want to make some angled boxes mounted just underneath the dash.
It seems a lot of people mount in the doors, which is a bad idea in my opinion because each speaker cancels itself out in that set up. The other option is in the kick panels, but then the speakers are a long distance from your ears.

I've bought some 3 way 6.5" Pioneer's. I plan to buy a 10" pioneer sub for in the under R&R bed panel, that will be mounted in a sealed enclosure.

So pictures on what you have set yours up like and how the sound is would be great :)

Thanks

Here's mine. :D

It has an amp on the inside of the suit case and I use an iPod for the music. :D It sounds ok. Does the job and I didn't have to have to put a radio on my non radio stock bus. :D

Nothing wrong with using the doors bro, the sound won't cancel out because the speakers use different channels. Kick panels are also fine, you need some distance to get good imaging. Basically it will come down to where you can fit your chosen speakers!

You are going to need some serious amplification to push these quick enough to create reasonable quality sound. You will also need a good front end to bring detail to be heard through the roll off these will make.

I always find that a pair of good quality components in the front driven by well matched amp with a 10" sealed sub set on HF is more than any one needs.

That is if you want to listen to music as it was meant to be heard.

Not dissing what you have done, it will push a lot of air 8)

I'm running them at 2 ohm stable with a pair of 780watt rms matched amps. Currently running focal components up front. I will be running 4 pairs from a 560watt rms 6 channel amp.

It won't be moving much air as they are sealed volumns to increase attak.

The amps flat out use 48 amps each.

I won't be using high pass filters on the amps. I have 2 30channel gfx. 1 will run the 80hz and above and the other 80hz and below.

10" are ok but lack depth below 65hz

 sounds like you have it covered.

I still think that is overkill in such a small space. I'm into old British Hifi and one of my favourite systems is a chrome bumper Naim Nait2. It is 11 wpc into 8 ohm. Even with a pair or bookshelf speakers (10" high with a 10cm mid driver) it fills a 12' x 12' x 8' room with amazing clarity. It won't go down below 65hz I'm sure but I like my trousers attached

Once it is up and running I would love to hear it. 8)
