Bit excited about my internet gettng connected after 6 weeks so i'm up for a bit of posting.
Went to Speedshop France near Toulouse the other day and have to say it's a top spot to go to if you're in the South West of France and your van is sounding iffy. I'd done about 4000 miles in a month so timing etc was well out but the dudes there sorted it- new condenser, points, general distributor clean up and timing done with a strobe.
All done while I admired the ery nice Speedshop early panel van and assorted beetles and half built engines. All for 34 euros! Unfortunately I forgot my camera but that van is well worth a magazine spread so i'll be snapping away next visit.
PS This is a great area for van driving, get booking Santander and Bilbao ferries for next summer (or Le Havre etc if you fancy giving your motor a good work out).
