My Kombi has a sliding sunroof and I was just wondering firstly how common they are, and secondly where I can get a new rubber seal for it?
It's about the size of a square ragtop.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Olson

Does anyone know of any other steel slider sunroof models? I'd never seen one until now! :?: 8)

It was a deluxe (Clipper) option..

Very desireable especially if you can open it (lots are shut solid) and if you can sort the leaks they suffer from....

Stock up on the cables if you find any....

Would love one myself....

Cool!
Yeah it does open, but I'll have to wedge it shut with a block of wood as the mechanism is missing at the moment.
All the drain holes are unblocked though so it should be fairly watertight.
I'm thinking I might make a seal from an old door or window seal if I can find one the right length, for the short term at least... 8)

PS, what's a Clipper? :?: (Sorry, I'm new to bays!)

Thats the Deluxe as it was released...

Thankyou kindly. :D

There's a few of us on here with the sunroof models, a great feature if not just a little too complicated. They did originally come with a seal though it was more for keeping out debri than water. VWHeritage have a few parts for the sunroofs, I know someone on here managed to get a seal and there is another thread somewhere with a great link for new cables. with the PVP and partners in chrome out there maybe we can start a sunroof chapter :D :D :D

Does that make me a partner in chrome then? :?:

Thanks for all your help folks, found the place that seels the cables, bit steep so I'll wait until I get the bus first!
Not entirely sure what is missing from the sunroof mechanism as yet...

I believe CIP1 in the States does the cables & mechanism for the bus. I seem to recall $159, but not sure if that was for a pair or one. WCM and other suppliers do the seal, but it's not cheep. When I see what mine should look like I will search for a generic piece to fit the hole.
