Been talking to a mechanic about lowering my van slightly and he reckons sway-away adjusters are better that the other 'moon shaped' ones that most people sell. Think he said this is due to the teeth failing. With the moon shaped ones I mean these:

Is he right, or just trying to bump the labour price up (i understand these are harder/take longer to fit?)

Cant seem to find any places that sell them for an EB, so makes me think that the other ones are better?

Cheers

Not sure they do sway away adjusters for a bus ?? aint they for a beetle ?? ( may be wrong though )

The ones you have put the link up for are normally ok , people i know have never had any problems with them ?

if you want a pre set drop then dropped spindals are far better and you keep the stock suspension comfort ;)

Thanks bac2ba6

It might make sense why we cant find any, if they are just for beetles!

Have been thinking of going down the dropped spindles route but the cost (overall) and the issues some people have had with them and rubbage, has put me off.

Was just think a couple of inches with the adjusters. Then if i change my wheels like i'm planning on doing i can just tweak the height.

aint dropped spindals about 2.5 inches anyway ??????????? carnt remeber

plus i know plenty of people that run those adjusters and aslong as there put in properly they have been fine .

Ive only heard of 1 pair failing before and that was later found out to be crap welding and it was the welds that had actually failed .

But at the end of the day any moddifaction brings its own problems one way or the other

also although they look cool as f**K and ive run lowered dubs for years but there a lot that has to be said for a stock dub ;)

The transporterhaus ones i was looking at are 3.5".

Just want to close the front wheel arch up a bit!
